Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. We define primary infertility by the inability to conceive even after 12 months of unprotected intercourse.

Try having intercourse around ovulation and if still you are unable to conceive, then get the various causes causing it ruled out. Various causes responsible for it are stress, age, taking up alcohol or certain drugs that causes infertility, food, coffee, medical causes may be due to problems in ovulation, tubes, uterus, cervix, endometriosi s,pituitary, hypothalamus, hormonal imbalance or problems in male genitourinary tract.

Exact cause for difficulty in conceiving can only be diagnosed by investigations to weed out the various possibilities and then confirming a diagnosis.

I would suggest you to consult a fertility expert as both you and your partner need to be investigated thoroughly. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
