Hijama is the Arab/Islamic traditional treatment, where blood is drawn by vacuum from a small skin incision for therapeutic purposes.[1] Hijama is generally performed by Muslims as it is a form of medicine specifically mentioned and encouraged by the prophet Muhammad. Among other sayings, it is mentioned in that recorded by Bukhari (5263), saying "Hijama is among your best remedies".

-The Blood drawn out by Hijama consists mosltly. if not entirly, of old and deformed red cells and amazingly relatively fewer white cells.
