can a spinal block cause a Degenerated disk?

I'm 24 yrs old and had a baby via c-section a little over one year ago. I have never had back problems before giving birth. Several months ago I started getting really bad back aches. After several doctors visits and several exams the doctors told me I have degenerating discs between L2 and L3. Do you think the spinal block administered to me could have been what lead to my discs degenerating? I

Hello Rismith,

Congratulations on your baby. It is a wonderful thing to watch a small child learn to sit, crawl and then walk. And then those first communicating words.

Rismith, welcome to this forum.

I am not a doctor, just a spiney like most of us here.

Degenerative disc disease (DDD) first is not a disease. It is a normal process of aging. Some factors can aggrevate the situation. During this past year you have carried your baby a great deal I'm sure. That may have aggravated the condition to the point where you had/have lower back pain.

Though I am in no position to answer your question, I would doubt that the spinal block had anything to do with your DDD. Please do ask your doctors this question for their medical opinion.

Perhaps some of the ladies on this forum can share their experiences with you. I was diagnosed with DDD when I was about 35-40. I'm now 72 and still working in my gardens.

To learn more, may I suggest that you go to Google and type in "degenerative disc disease".

Take care, enjoy your baby.

RichT
