Can a glucose IV suspend reactive hypoglycemia?

I am on a strict diet because of reactive hypoglycemia. I have to eat the same time every day. I eat 3 meals and 1 snack just before bedtime. And I pretty much have a limited array of food and beverages that I can have. Recently I was hospitalized for several days for something else. I was afraid to eat the hospital food so my husband brought in all my usual food at the right times. It was a success because my glucose meter read about 100 every time that I tested. My question is could I have eaten the hospital food because I was on a glucose IV? Does a glucose IV protect me from sudden drops in blood sugar (reactive Rolling Eyes hypoglycemia) if I am not eating correctly? Thank you.
