I am 45 and only need to lose about 15 pounds. I am 5.3 150 pounds. Been working with a trainer for 4 months now! it's our 5th month. no change in my wt yet but I have built a lot of muscle. Now..I started out eating 1,200 and now I am experimenting and thinking maybe in the 3rd month i should be eating a bit more on the days i train, (3 days a week for 1 hr either chest and back, legs, or arms followed by 20 minutes of cardio) I also do cardio 3days a week at the gym. doing elliptical. or tread mill or arc machine or recumbent bike for 1 hr so i work out 6 days a week. I see changes in my body..by inches lost. but it's taking so long!!!! is it something to do with my metabolism? ok so for a 45 yr old woman, 5.3 150 pounds how much am i supposed to eat a day? is 1,500 on training days suffice? or is it too much? i eat very healthy btw..not more than 30% of fat intake for the day.

Help!!! how do i lose fat??? will it take more time? like maybe another 3 to 6 months with more cardio???

You can try a higher intensity cardio. The elliptical and stair master are great. You can eat a bit more, your metabolism will speed up with the food and with the new muscle. You can try longer cardio also, to see quicker results.

I have some good news for you, if you're losing inches but not losing weight you are losing fat! Which is what everyone wants because when it comes to your metabolism, the more you weigh the faster it is. Plus this means that you've replaced your fat with muscle (which is surprising considering how little you eat) I do think you should eat more on days when you're more active.. start with 1500 calories but you may need even more than that. Even if you did nothing all day you'd burn more than 1200 calories so maybe you should up your calorie intake even on days that you're less active. but do it slowly or your body might not be able to keep up.
