Hi, a friend on mine worked as an air stewardess in the UK and was dismissed once she was diagnosed, as unfit to carry out her job due to health & safety reasons. She tried to appeal but it got dropped due to a legal technicality of that process, so the case didnt get heard, which is a shame.

Her consultant recommended that holiday flying was ok but working on flights could be bad for her, mainly due to the reduced levels of oxygen & effects of altitude. Most planes also heat the cabin air by passing it via the engines, which is known to have an effect on air quality. This is currently being tested in cases in the USA & Australia by pilots which say they have been affected by this. Its possible that my friends fits were brought on by this, as the plane she flew on a lot is the worst in the world for this air heating problem.

hope that helps,
Lee
