I had a c-section 28 1/2 years ago. ( After that I also had a tubal pregnancy rupture- the scars cross each other). In October of 2008, my stomach felt 'sore' . My scar had split open , and was bleeding . It also pussed a little a couple of days later. In July of '08, I had gone to the Dr. for high blood pressure - they did blood work for cholesterol, etc. When, I went back to the Dr. in October of '08, she was going over my lab results. She circled 2 numbers, and said she was concerned about the numbers. She said my blood count was ' off the charts'. She said it probably meant an infection, so I preceded to tell her about what happened with my scar splitting open. She put me on 10 days of antibiotics , and said if it didn't clear up, she was going to send me to a surgeon to see what was going on . Well, when I called to schedule my appt. , they can't get me in until mid January 2009. Since October, the scar has looked like it was 'healing' together many times, just to split back open in a few days, and bleed a little. What could be the cause?

hey, i think the scar tissue could of stretched a little which made the area in the middle of the scar weakened and caused it to split, this actually happened to my sister a few years after having my nephew she had to go back to hospital and have it restitched and was given antibiotics, am not expert tho hun this is just my opinion but it sounds very similar to my sis so thought i would mention it good luck Jenny

Thank you J3nnyuk for replying to my question. The scar tissue makes sense. I hope your sister is doing well. It was such a freaky thing to happen. Thanks again for your response. Susan
