In December I went to the doctor with unusual discharge, itching, and discomfort, after the swabs came back, I had bacterial vaginosis, I was given antibiotics for it, after 10 days I did not feel any better, so I went back to the doctor, he did swabs again and just prescribed the internal gel, in February I went back to the doctor becuase the symptoms were still there, I was advised to use the internal gel again. I returned in March with the symptoms still, the doctor said my swabs the second time in December and in February were not positive for bacteria, the original antibiotics got rid of it and he did not know what could be causing my symptoms. He referred me to a gyno, but I have no recived a call from them yet. I am desperate, I have been living with this for months and I cannot take it anymore, I need some kind of idea what is going on.
I have a lot of discharge, to the point I typically have to change my underwear halfway through the day. When I wasnt working the discharge was just wet, sometimes white, sometimes a yellowish tinge. Now that I am working it is more of a staining discharge, sometimes redish tinge, sometimes yellowish tinge, sometimes just thick white. I get very itchy at times, most usually at night time and I have extreme discomfort and usually pain after wiping, baths/showers, sex, toy stimulation and after being in jeans for a few hours. I am still waiting for the gyno and trying desperately to get into another doctor that works with my work schedule, but I am so desperate, I have had these symptoms since November and I cannot take it anymore, please, please someone help me
Ive also been on birth control for the better part of 8 years, i take it 3-4 packs at a time to help regulate extremely awful periods i have dealt with for 10 years, I have been sleeping with the same man for almost 2 years, unprotected, I do not douche ever or wear tampons ever, if any of that helps

I'm so sorry that you're suffering! I know what some of that is like. After antibiotics, you MUST replenish your good bacteria with probiotics, yogurt, acidophilus supplements. You can't be healthy without the good bacteria. Antibiotics kill everything, good and bad. You can put plain, organic yogurt (I've recently bought the greek yogurt) inside your vagina for very fast relief, as often as needed. NO added sugar or flavors, though. I saw someone's tip about putting it in a baggie and freezing it for easier insertion, which I may try too Smile

About using the pill to control your periods. Please read about iodine supplementation, Dr. Jorge Flechas specializes in using iodine to help patients with health problems, including infertility, heavy periods, etc. You can read what he says and find other info online. Try to reduce your exposure to estrogens. A big source of estrogens is "parabens" in lotions, shampoos, etc. They are preservatives which act as synthetic estrogens. If you're using many products with parabens, they add up. STAY AWAY FROM SOY in anything.

Semen is alkaline, which can contribute to causing BV, along with blood (menstruation) and other things. The vagina must be acidic to be healthy. Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, maybe diluted a bit with water, could be used to restore the acidity.

I hope you get relief soon!

all I can say is there is no harm in applying the yogurt, it will not hurt you as long as you get the plain w/o sugar/flavor

if you don't even have the good bacteria, you're going to have some kind of symptoms because you need the good bacteria. It's just part of us being healthy.
