Buspar & Zanaflex for TMJ

Carol,

In your into, you mentioned you're taking (or took) 7.5 mg Buspar and Zanaflex. I'm currently taking the same meds.

Do you take the 7.5 mg Buspar all at once, or divided throughout the day? I take 2.5 mg 3 times a day, but I was wondering if it would work better to take 7.5 mg at night.

You mentioned Zanaflex works, but it also works on your eyes so you have to be careful. What did you mean by that? Is Zanaflex damaging to your vision?

Thanks,
John

Wonderdog,
Did you get my return PM okay?

Zanaflex isn't damaging to my eyes, but it relaxes them so much that it's hard to keep them open if I take a full dose. I guess that's why they call it a muscle relaxant. Smile

Hope you are doing well. God bless...

having neck and shoulder pain originating from under ear
So glad to find this forum. For the last 4 days I've been having pain from under my right ears and radiating down my neck and shoulders. I know I have TMJ though I was never diagnosed. My jaws been clicking for year. I can move my neck side to side and bend them front and forward but the pain is just there. It seems like when I'm stationary, the pain is more but when I start moving or exercising/stretching, it seems like it's not there. I went and see a doctor and he gave me a muscle relaxant Parafon Forte. He is sending me to a TMJ doctor but when he mentioned that a surgery might be possible, I chickened out because I've read somewhere that it should be the last solution and it's not always a guarantee that it will go away.

I need some input because this has been bothersome to me, I wake up with headaches. I had my sinuses CT scanned and it is negative.Thanks.
