For the last 5 days I have had a tearing-burning sensation on my left side above my hip. If I move just right it takes my breath away. If a push on it in that area it is very tender. Any thoughts?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

A tearing burning sensation on the side just above the hip can be due to pinched nerves, an abscess, a muscle pull, a kidney problem or gas in colon. It could also be a kidney stone. It is very important you consult a doctor. A CT scan of the abdomen may be required. Hope this helps. Take care!
