For the past 6 or 7 years now I have had what seems like a urinary tract infection. Burning when I pee. Sometimes it is severe, sometimes it's nonexistant. Sometimes it burns when I start too pee and stops when I finish, or the reverse. I go sometimes for weeks without it happening and then it will happen out of nowhere. I have been to several doctors in the past 6 or 7 years and every single one has done tests to see if I have UTI, but all the tests have come back negative except the very first one I had done, which I took antibiotics for. The condition stopped for a few months but came back. Ever since then every doctor tells me I don't have one and sends me on my way. This is very frustrating and I need to know what it is and what to do about it. Especially recently. I have had a few occasions recently with my husband where I got the severe burning during sex. It feels like I have to pee and at the same time burns extremely bad to where we have to stop. I am 20 years old and have never had a pelvic exam and was wondering what I should do about this and if a pelvic exam is the way to go to figure out what it wrong.

Have you been tested for and ruled out STDs?
Unless you specifically ask for it, a pelvic exam will only include a test for abnormal cervical cells.
Have you seen a urologist? If not, you may want to consider that as well.

I have been testing very recently for std's and i have none. and since i've been tested i have only been with my husband so i know that's not it. I have not seen a urologist but I will look into it considering nobody else seems to be able to help me.
