bumps turn into red raised rashes with skin peeling?
Avatar
About a week ago i noticed what looked like bites, little bumps with a little blood or scab in center. After a few days these bumps turn into red raised rashes with skin peeling a bit. They are everywhere except my face and mainly my trunk. It was my belief that they were gnat bites but there is so many. I sleep naked and there were quit a few gnats in the room at that point. My gf got a few that look similar but went away. It cant be contagious from one person to another because we share the same bedding. These raised rashes do itch and I have been applying caladryl. It really shares the same characteristic of many rashes but i cant find one definite lookalike. It resembles Pityriasis rosea the most from what i can tell. And i do get rosea on my face this time of year. Even a previous wound that has healed on my elbow is flaky. Any thoughts i really appreciate your help.

Ok. I was right in my diagnosis. I was a bit thrown off because of the herald patch being on my elbow.

If you experience:

-Looks like bugbites & Itch later flowering into a raised oval shaped rash with a little skin peel.
-The rash is most intense in these areas ( armpit area between chest and sholder, Center of back looking like a ^ from rash, Sides of stomach)
- The rash Itched for me, and lasted about a month.
THEN YOU MAY HAVE PITYRISIS ROSEA

All I can say is research is the best thing you can do to determine what it is you have.
