Q: Bumps on forehead after cold
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 6th, 2009
I recently had a cold: sneezing, coughing, runny nose, sinus pressure/headache and general tiredness. I noticed about a week ago I started getting these small bumps on my forehead. It kinda looks like a rash but there is no redness and it isn't ichy. It's a lot of little bumps (I normally have dry skin so I rarely have pimples) and just a day or two ago the bumps have spread down the right side of my face going down to my chin. It's on my cheek and it's starting to spread to my left cheek, but my left side of my space is still clear and smooth. Is this related to my recent cold or is this an allergy?

It is hard to say what the bumps are without seeing them. The bumps might be caused by infection because they spread continuously instead of appearing all at once as in allergy. Allergy rush would be more associated with itching.
However, you might want to visit your family doctor because the therapy for infection (antibiotics) differ from the therapy for allergy (antihistaminic and anti-inflammatory products).
