Q: bumps on face in summer
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 25th, 2008
In the last couple of years I've started to get bumps on my face during the summer hot weather whenever I go outside. If I stay indoors with air conditioning then my skin will go back to being normal. I never had this problem before. I had lived in Fuzhou, China (hot and humid tropical weather during the summer) most of my life, and moved to California a couple of years ago. After living in California for a year I went back to Fuzhou to visit during the summer and that's when the problem started. As soon as I left Fuzhou everything was back to normal. Apparently the hot weather in Fuzhou is probably the cause? What can I do about it?

According to the information you've given, the bumps seems to occur whenever you go outside, you might be experiencing photo-dermatitis. Photo-dermatitis is a combination of genetic factors, humidity, sunlight and perhaps some kind of unknown substance make-up?) that can cause an allergic skin reaction.

You can consult a dermatologist about the face skin condition for a full diagnostic and treatment alternatives.
