Q: Bumps on body

I have a couple of hard bumps on my body. One is on my left side, and then I have a few on the back of my shoulder (kinda where the arm and back meet). Probably 5 small bumps in total. They are all very small (less than a pencil). The one on my side is kinda redish, and the ones on my back/arm are more skin colored. I wouldn't say any are abnormally shaped. They are part of the skin, not under it. They fell kinda like zits that just don't pop and have been there now for a year .
They aren't really getting any bigger either. The biggest ones are the one on my side and one of the ones on my back/arm.

I do get acne on my arms and back and I pop them, I know I shouldn't but I do. I recall having acne in these, or around these locations before.

I'm only 28, no family history of skin cancer or anything. My question I guess is what likely are these little bumps? They are very hard and painless. Wouldn't even know they were there if I didnt keep messing with them. When I do leave them alone they just stay there as little bumps and do not go away. I was leaning towards just scar tissue from acne I have had (and my continued messing with them), but any advice or knowledge what they could be?

I have already scheduled an appointment with a dermotologist for next friday, but I was hoping some questions could be helped so I know what to ask.

Also, they are barely raised. looks like less than 1mm.

I have been scratching/messing with them so they seem very red.

Just more details. The red one on my side is smaller than eraser, and less than 1mm high. It is also not very firm (almost looks like blood under the skin) Ive been pooring over images on the web and it doesn't look like the pics I see of melanoma. It doesnt have any clearly defined edges. It is round, but the redness fades to normal color, no clear edges.

The ones on my arm/back are not nearly as raised after not messing with them, they are however much firmer than the one on my side. I saw pics online where people got dermofibrosis from picking at acne in this location.

Like I said, I think all of these started as deep bad acne that I popped. The biggest one on my arm/back has been there for over a year, and the one on my side I think has been there 2 or more years.

Since they have been there so long and are still smallish does this sound good for me? I have read that melanoma spreads fast. If it were melanoma I'd assume in the 2 years or so it would have gotten larger than it is. Honestly, I don't think the one on my side has ever changed size.

There is another bump on my back I forgot to mention where a hair folicle comes out. I popped a zit there maybe 6 months ago. Ever since its been red raised and harder just like the other spots I am describing.

Just trying to give a complete picture. Any feedback at all would be great. I fear melanoma, especially since I know they have been on me so long. At the same time, everything I read says that if it were melanoma they would be far worse now given the timeframe. Any feedback?

Let me know what the doctor said if you get back on here. I have what sound like you do. I have some I have had for a few years. Same size same color thing happing with them. They are round no edges. I have been doing the same as you looking at pics of skin cancer. An I have nothing like the pics. I hope we both are okay. Oh they are on my chest and back that its under my arms. No sun exposed skin to little sun exposed skin. So I dont think irs cancer. Keep me updated.

I went. He said the hard bumps on my arm/back are from picking at myself. That the skin in that area is not good at healing and my picking turned them into scar tissue. He just froze them off.

Everything I was afraid of he said was nothing. However, he did cut 2 moles off of me that he said looked bad. I am waiting for the pathology on them. Fingers are crossed they come back clean.
