I recently got a bump under my tongue. Its been about a week now and after a night of drinking a bump arose from under my tongue. It has a "nipple" like shape to it and is red and very irritatiing, I recently changed toothbrushes and began using mouthwash on a regular basis. I try not to use mouthwash due to the fact it gives me canker sores.

I have been using Listerine mouthwash which when I use it, it burns of course for the first few seconds but afterwards numbs the bump. After 4 days of using the mouthwash I have develop a tiny bump(on the same side) along the jawline which feels like a developing canker sore.

Can anyone help me out and tell me what the heck it is? Is it from drinking, bacteria, cancer or what? And is the new bump that developed a spread of the "infection" or just a side effect of the mouthwash?

Also over the time period it has gotten better as far as pain gones but not in size. In which I know it will take longer to heal due to that area of the tongue is brushed the most when eating.
