On the right side of my chest on the side of my sternum near the beginning of the upper right side of my ribcage, I have a noticeable bump, as if my ribcage/sternum has rotated and now sticks out. I also have pain when I press down on the protruding area. I have noticed that the pain and the appearance have gotten worse over the last couple of months. What could be the cause of my protruding ribcage/sternum, is it very serious, and should I get x-rays to ensure I am not in any harm?
