Bulking up

Well, I'm 15 years, 6'1 and I weigh 135lbs. I'm tired of being the "lanky" guy, and I got a personal trainer for the summer whom I'm going to see 5 days a week (Mon-Fri) for a [1] hour workout session.

I'm not starting until July the 3rd (which is when I turn 16 so I can actually access the gym), so up until then I want to start a good workout routine right now, as well as a balanced diet with a high calorie intake so I can gain weight.

Right now I can currently bench only about 100lbs, I'm hoping to be able to bench at least 150lbs by the end of the summer, if that's realistic. I also want to obtain a weight of around 165-170lbs so I can put some meat on my arms. I'm also a track runner, so I'm planning to run as often as I can and want to workout my calves.

Can anyone help me figure out what I should be eating in order to obtain my goals? As well as what workouts I can do at home when I'm not at the gym? I have two sets of dumbells--20lbs and 30lbs--as well as a weight-lifting machine that goes up to a maximum of 80lbs and can workout my: pecs, biceps, triceps, thighs, and shoulders. I'm more eager to learn about home calve exercises I can do, so if anybody knows any good ones I'd highly appreciate it.

Thanks Very
Happy

Just eat a lot more than you usually do! Working out that much burns calories, so eat, eat, eat a lot of carbohydrates for energy and weight gain!

You should be focusing on protein and complex carbs. Just packing on calories isn't going to help unless it's something healthy.

I've got a list of good foods to eat in terms of weight gain, feel free to ask any additional questions! Smile

Thanks for that list, the next time I go grocery shopping I'll be sure to buy some of that stuff Smile

Also may I add that my body fat is around 5.06%, is that healthy for me as an athlete?

Yeah, 5.06% its on the low end, but I'd say you're good.
