I sought help a few months ago for my eating disorder because I've finally come to a point where it was consuming my life. I'm a single mom and I just want to go one day without shutting the bathroom door on my daughter. I started treatment with medication and therapy, but it seemed to only really affect me for a couple of months. I'm back into my old eating habits, and mostly because I've gained a few pounds and I'm obsessing about it. My doctor has recently suggested inpatient treatment, but I want to find another answer because I can't see being away from my little girl for that long. Help please!

I know what you are going through! I am there, have been for 7 years. I now have two kids and hate sneaking around! I feel the same way and I have been to counsiling for it but that didnt help me at all. I found comforting in talking to my husband or my mom, but then got paranoid because it seemed like everyone was watching me etc. But maybe talking it out with someone and having someone maybe monitor you....if you need anyone to talk to pm, I definitely know how you feel!

Best wishes
katie

hi girls,

I was anorexic, bulimic and now I am binging. for last 2 weeks i binge every second day. I am miserable, I promise to stop but smth has been broken in me and nothing instead was built on its place.

I know what I need to do, I need to exercise in the morning instead of binge breakfast, have a moderate lunch and not erat after 6pm.

it is so easy but i have no motivation, no motivation at all. i had appointments for 2 weeks a month ago and i lost 3 kg, by eating normal.no i seat at home , i have a ton of reasearch to do, but instead i binge and plan the diet Sad((((

so, Emy, you r not alone

best
B

hey girls, i know what use r talking about. ive been bulimic for years now.
Emyeve- as hard as it is with ur girls you need to think what is best for you. You cant care for your girl if you cant care for yourself.
personally i found inpatient therapy very useful- I was in there for over 2 months i found it hard and pointless at the time.but it was very effective. PS you will be closly monitored on a fluid and food chart. If you dont eat for a couple of days you get a tube fed(worst feeling ever) and if you dont drink you go on a drip. Its hard but it helped me get my habbits back.
Even if you just saw a psychologist once a week might help... there are a few things i found on the net that are self help programs- they work for some and not others. means that you could still look after your girl

I find that going for a walk in the mornings helped alot. you could take your girl to the park or just for a walk- made me feel like i was doing something about my weight. Also make sure you are drinking lots of water throuhout the day. it helps you feel full..well it does for me.

Also remember that skipping meals encourages a binge. This is because your body gies into starvation mode. When your body is given food it asks for more and more because it looses its ability to know when it will recieve food. So it asks for more incase you dont give it enough to fuel normal body processes.
keep yourself busy, use relaxation techniques and remember no one is perfect. we are all beautiful unique people. Be patient, hang in there get some supports!
