Hi, thank for reading this blog!!!! I' m an English man of 30 and my GF is 31 and Japanese, we have been together for years but i have been traveling on an off for work until 1 yr ago so its only now i can give all the support i can, we are a strong team and i see a bright future for us. She has had bulemia for TEN yrs, and used to be a nurse and now a chef!!!

She is Japanese and we live in Japan, where any sign of "inperfection" or mental "illness" is hidden and never talked about.

I have been a support worker in the past and to be honest i think most men would not be able to hack this. I am supportive and understanding and we have good communication. Yet here its a joke to try to get REAL help, i have made alot of calls but unless your minted and im not poor its a non starter!

We are trying different things, such as walks, set meals, change of routines etc, but is hard. Im not thinking its going to be easy and she cant do it for "us" she has to do it for "her"

She does not think she is overweight it seems to be more a sense of control in her life, when she was young it was about weight but has changed over the years. She is a very deep person and has a lot going on in her head, japan is a great place but emotions are never talked about so its catch 22!!! No 1 says what they mean just what they think they should say and any sign of not being the norm is a stigma and avoid. She is not a typical Japanese lady and i think this is a good thing but it has segregated her a little more than most.

We will move back to Thailand (where i used to live) a much freer place with an amazing health service at a very good price, but im wondering if any1 has any tips as to online help, plans, ANYTHING. As the Japan is as much use as a chocolate tea pot unless you have loads of £££££££££££££££££££££££££

Thanks in advance.

p.s
she works 6 days a week and does not get home till after 9pm, the routine is to relax with a beer then eat a meal. then relax BUT then have to leave the room to eat more and then purge. Breaking the routine is hard as we have little time after work, an example would be last night when she came home we ate a average meal, took a walk and then came back and read.

I knew she was really trying and we went to bed but her temperature when shy high and a 4am after a troubles sweety half sleep she could not take it and had to eat loads and then purge.

A few months back i found a shake that is high in K and i know this is need, and she is good at drinking water after.

I never push her but we are at a wall.

If you have read all of this bless you for your time and thanks.
