Im 18 and I brush my gums until the bleed and they start to hurt, but its not a bad pain, it hurts more and more and at the same time feels better and better, not sure what causes this, just wondering if anyone knew what it was. I don't pick at them with anything i just brush really really hard and fast and i can do i for like 20 min at a time. It doesn't happen very often but I do remember it beginning when i had a sore in my mouth from a cold. It pretty much happens around my right canine and along the molars.

My Peradontist, told me the wisest thing to do is brush your teeth whenever you can...She said to take a toothbrush with you when you are driving...Just brush them without the toothpaste...This makes healthy gums...I had problems with my gums before I saw her and she sure knew her business...That was about 15 years ago...Have not had a problem since...Don't hurt your mouth, but I doubt you are doing any harm....
