Hi all,

I'm new here and haven't read through all topics so forgive me if this has been asked previously.

I've been perimenopausal for about 3 1/2 years now. I've talked to my Dr. and described what was happening and she agreed that it was probably the beginning of the end of my periods.

They've slowed from 5 days down to about 3 days and have been like this for about 2 years total. I just had a period that was like no other though, and I'm concerned. I had a day of pinkish discharge, followed by about 2 days of bleeding (slight on 2nd day). This was followed by a brownish discharge that has a HORRIBLE odor. I'm assuming its old blood, but was wondering if anyone has experienced this and how long it lasted. My period was supposed to end 4 or 5 days ago, and I'm still experiencing the discharge. I think I'd rather have a 5 day period!

Thanks for any and all help.

During Menopause this happens...Sometimes people can go through this for more than a few years...Not to worry...

Take care,
Caroline
