Hi i am 17 years old and i am on the birthcontrol seasonale. I have been on it for over a year now and about three weeks ago i missed two pills in a row. I got my period but i kept on taking the pills. for about 7 days now i have experienced a brownish discharge and this morning there was some light blood but now it has gone back to brown. This doesn't last all day only for a bit. I'm not sure if this should worry me or if this is my bodies way trying to get back on track. Please help!

Tracey, Our bodies are much less tolerant of missed pills when using extended cycle birth control like Seasonale. You were quite correct in keeping on taking it as if nothing happened. Breakthrough bleeding is normally the result of missing these pills and it can take a while to clear up again.

If you are taking it to protect you from pregnancy, you should not allow ejaculation inside you for 7 days after restarting it.

Best of luck!
