Q: brown vaginal discharge while sick

for the past few days i have been sick with accute bronchitis. well while i've been sick, each morning i wake up with a dark brown discharge on my panty liner. it only happens while i'm sleeping. could this possibly just be my bodys way of getting rid of some of my bronchitis infection while sleeping? or could there be an infection of sorts in my vagina?

I've been sick for the past two weeks and the same thing has been happening. I wish someone would answer this question
