2 months (August '0Cool ago I began experiencing an oddly grotesque smelling period. I've always had normal & regular periods & I don't take birth control. I haven't had any sex in over a month because of this issue & I refuse to be touched vaginally. Now not only are my periods gross, I have daily brown & smelly discharge & then it's even more emphasized during my period. I can smell it through my clothes & I'm hyper-self-conscious about it when in public. I'm too embarassed to talk about it with anyone. I don't even know if I can describe what it smells like, I guess the closest thing I can compare it to is the smell of mestruation blood.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

well preciousniki, i don't know exactly what you're talking about, but i can tell you that you don't need to let it shut your life down like you are doing.

go to see the dr. and tell her what's going on with you. chances are it's an easy fix. don't be embarrassed. things like this happen all the time that are 1,000 x grosser than you can ever imagine.

relax and talk to your doctor. she can fix you up in a sec.

Brown discharge is usually old blood that is being discharged. You should consult with your gynecologist about this. Hormonal changes may be the cause of the break through bleeding you are experiencing.

Sounds like an infection.

It's common for women to develop infections during their period that may or may not go away on their own.

You may just need some antibiotics to get everything back to normal. Infections are very common, so don't worry about speaking with a doctor about it. Smile

horrible period odor
I am experiencing a horrible odor with my period, and the discharge that comes after. It smells like something dead inside. I am not sexually active, and have not been for 2 years.
Perhaps because I am 44 years old, it could be related to pre menopausal hormonal imbalances.
