Q: brown discharge

For the last 4 months of beind with my new partner Iv been having pain before during and after sex no bleeding. Also the last few months iv been having a white discharge but in the last few days iv been having brown creamy discharge. I would like to know what this is and if it can be treated.

I have had this before. I freaked out, so I went to the DR, they said it was normal, if you have just recentley got off of your period within a week or two, or even a few days, it is the "self cleansing" process of the vagina, it is old dry blood.
