Ive been having my period every 35 to 37 days. Its been regular, coming each month and last month I had a really normal period of about 7 days long, with a good amount of menstrual flow. This month at day 34 I started noticing this brown discharge and I thought that my period was going to start, but as the day progressed it stopped. Then the next day I didnt have any brown spotting. Today I wake up (day 36) I woke up and found more brown discharge, more than on the day 34, and this time I had a light red spot, just one. Then after a while it stopped again...then started again with a clotty brown discharge, enough to stain my underwear. But now it stopped again! I dont know what's happening and Im really worried. I am sexualy active, but in this month I had sex only once, and used protection (condoms). Im waiting to see what happens tomorrow, hopefully Ill see my period, but Im really worried about it. Also Im having mild crampings every once in a while and lower belly aches like if I had diarrhea (comes and goes pretty quickly thought)

any thoughts? please help!!!

This happens to me almost every month. I have brown discharge, which is really just dried blood.I get that at the beginning and the end of my period. It is usually a couple days before my period, that is how i know it is coming most of the time. If your period does not start in the next couple of days or the cramping gets too bad, you could go see you doctor.

brown discharge instead of period
ive had the same thing happen to me. I went off birth control in September and restarted when I got my period in October. SInce then I have been taking it regularly, sometimes might have to take 2 in one day, but have never just forgotten altogether. I had been on birth control for at least 2 months when I had unprotected sex. This month (so probably a month after unprotected sex) when I was supposed to get my period all i got instead of was this brown discharge. I did not get my period at all. I am worried that it could mean im pregnant!! (which is why I was obviously on birth control to prevent this). I dont have any other symptoms, just the brown discharge instead of a period. Any advice or suggestions as to what it could be or what to do???

I have had a problem with brown discharge for over a year. Last year sometime i started getting brown discharge after my periods ended that stained my underwear. I have had it after every period consistently since then and it lasts all the way up until my next period starts. Its like im on my period everyday and i never get a break. Its just discharge but its dark brown and embarrassing for my sexual life. Luckily my boyfriend understands and could care less about it but I really want to know what the heck it is.
