my last period was dec 24 it lasted till the 30th, and i run a 29 day cycle my longest cycle had been 31 days one time so going off 31 day cycle i should've started my next period at the latest on the 23 of january, i didn't i took 3 pregnancy tests 2 in the morn and one in the after noon 3 different days, all were negative. i started spotting brown discharge on the 29th, then i started my "period" the 1 of February, i've never been that late on a period and i wasn't stressed about anything before my period would have came so i don't think it was a cause of hormonal change. i didn't have camps like i usually do and the blood is bright red which has never happened and its not heavy which i have a heavy flow normally, and like 2 nights ago i had pains in my back and upper stomach not like really bad to where i felt like i was gonna die but it was noticeable, and starting yesterday i felt a little sick to where i could throw up possibly for maybe 30 minutes to an. could i be pregnant?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

If there is a history of unprotected sex and you had a delayed period with lower abdomen and back pain, then this could be a miscarriage. However it is also possible that the period got delayed on its own. Once in a while it is possible for the periods to come early or get delayed without a cause. However this should not persist from cycle to cycle.

If you suspect the possibility of pregnancy, take a blood pregnancy test for confirmation. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once. Hope this helps. Take care!
