Q: Broken Unextracted Root

I have two upper Canines which were root filled many years ago and they broke in half leaving only the root behind.

I have not got the roots extracted because it may leave a dip on the face and change the shape. The roots have not given any trouble at all.

Some advice that they should be pulled out whether they give trouble or not.

Is this essential? Could I leave the root behind if there are no problems?
