It is not uncommon to have some discomfort around the fracture site early on. The edges of the bone move slightly, which is okay, but they can pinch the periosteum, which the outer lining of the bone. The periosteum has a lot of nerve fibers in it, and it is responsible for most of the pain associated with fractures.
However, if the pain persists or gets worse, you should contact your surgeon.
