i broke both these bones 3 weeks ago and i just wondering how long they take to heal and when will i be able to walk on both legs again? i work at a care home for hold people and we ave to lift them in and offchairs. does anyone no when i will be fit enough to go back to work aswell. any help advice would be great.

Yours is a serious break...The bones must mend and you can't put pressure on them before they are able to stand it...My best advice is rest...Follow the doctors instructions...Do your therapy and when you are able, do not overdo in your lifting...Depending upon your age the healing can be slower...Good luck...

im 24 i dont no what u call a bad break one of the bones where shattered into 5 bits so they all had to be put back together. my leg is getting better even after 3weeks of doing it

You have a bad break...The bone must fill in and get stronger...A simple break usually takes about 8 weeks...I take it that you are in a cast...They usually take X-rays after this time...Often they will say another 4 weeks, but I am guessing on this...When I broke my foot I was in a cast for 6 weeks...When they took it off it was not only black and blue, but sore and swollen...It took another four weeks for me to get around with ease...Each break is different...You will have to talk to your physician as he is the only one who has the right answer...Good luck...

no i dont have a cast i had an op to have a metal rod put in my leg to hold the bone in place. the rod is acting has a splint. so has of tommorow it will be my 4th weeks pain is still painful at times but is gradully getting better.so do u think it will be 12 weeks before i go back to work??
