Q: Broken skin over mole

I've had a small mole (2-3mm across) on the top of my foot, just at the base between my big toe and 2nd toe for 10 years and thus far I've never had any problems with it. However I've recently developed athletes foot in that area and as a result, the skin is broken around the mole and a part of the skin over the mole has peeled off. Will this cause any long-term problems with the mole?

It's slightly itchy and tender to touch, but I'm not sure if thats the mole or the broken skin around it.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Extremely eHealthy
Itching, burning, pain, and scaling of the foot skin are all due to Athlete's foot condition.
In more severe cases cracking of the skin can appear (bleeding, too), as in your case.
So, I think the itching and tenderness is due to fungal infection.

Are you treated for this?
Do you find redness, warmth and swelling in area of cracked skin?
Do you smell bad odor coming from the same place?
