My son was tossing football with his dad and the ball bounced up and hit his pinkie. This happened on Wed. today is Tues of the next week. We thought he might of jammed it. It swelled automatically. I taped it up for two days just to be safe. The swelling has not gone down. He can bend it some but cannot make a fist with it. There was no bruising. I was just wandering if it could be broken or not? I am going to take him to doctor tomorrow to have it x- rayed. Thank you for reading....

Either a fracture or a bad sprain may be the cauuse of your complaint. I agree a doctor evaluation and an x-ray is indicated.
