Please help! My father fell down the stairs and broken his neck back in November.
When he was rushed into hospital he was put into a neck brace (light) by the ambulance staff, he was x-rayed and confirmed that he had broken his neck and a few bones in his lower back. On addmittance to hospital he could move all his limbs and neck. 2 days later he was rushed into ITU with breathing problems and was paralized from the neck down. Why this happened we have no idea, and the hospital doesn't seem to know either. They admitted to us that they didn't expect him to live! We are now nearly 5 months on, my father is off the breathing machine and only has a small oxygen tube in his nose, he has movement in all limbs, be it only small.
Our problem now is we don't know what next to expect as he is getting mental problems now instead, seeing things, talking rubbish etc... We don't think the hospital is doing enough for him to be able to come home or what ever else he may need. They don't seem to know what to do with him either, we were hoping he would be able to go to stoke for re-habitiation, but we arnt getting much response to that either. Its very upsetting for us the family. Please can you help, suggest anything that we can do? Thank you (sorry about the spelling but its very hard to write this)
