Like everything that is man made, thing like this can happen...My husband had a hip replacement and it went well...The contractor who just did our addition had this done and has had three surgeries because of an allergic reaction to the prosthesis...My husband is heading to the doctor next weeks because of a weakening in one of his knees that was replaced...

I guess I would say that it is not normal, but it happens...
