I broke my back about 6 months ago. I was in a back brace for 10 weeks and did 7 weeks of pt and it has been about 2 months since I have stopped the pt but my back still hurts on and off. When I run my back is fine but when I do almost any lifting with my back it will start to hurt and hurt for a day or two. I have a sports coming up that I would like to play pain-free again. So any help would be appreciated.

When was the last time you saw your spine specialist?

Have you had any recent MRI or CT scans done?

Are you sure that your spine has healed?

Are you continuing to do the core strengthening exercises that the physical therapist showed you how to do, every day, at least once or twice a day?

Are you using proper body mechanics when you go to lift something?

Have you been Ok'd to lift things and do you have a weight limit as to what you can pick up?

I would suggest that you see your spine specialist and have an MRI and/or a CT scan done to see if there are any further problems with our spine and to discuss the problems you are having with the spine surgeon
