Hi,
I broke my ankle over a year ago. It was a very severe break and I had to have surgery on both sides of my ankle, with the insertion of metal plates and screws etc. Ten months later the consultants finally realised that one of the bones had not fused and was still broken. I then had my second surgery. They took a bone graft from my ankle, placed it by the break to try to get it to heal. 6 weeks in plaster, only to be told that the bone had still not healed.
My consultant is now talking about a 'live bone biopsy/transplant'. Do you know what this involves or means???
Thanks
