Q: Bringing cat home for Thanksgiving

Ok, so here's the deal:

I have a year old cat, Lily, that I've had for a good 6 months now. She's house trained and I've never had a problem with her in my apartment.

Thanksgiving break is coming up and I'd like to bring her to my parent's house while I'm home visiting. The problem is that our house hasn't had the best luck with cats since the owners before us didn't properly house train their cats for whatever reason. We've never had a cat who has been house trained in that house before, so we don't really know how she'll react. My parents told me they don't mind if accidents happen, and we'll all keep an eye on her, but I don't want any of that to ruin how she behaves at my apartment. The only other places she's been is the humane society and the vet's kenneling one weekend (I don't want to leave her there over break so I'm hoping I can avoid that).

So does anyone know if that's even something to be concerned about? I'll be double checking everything with my vet, but I figured I'd see if anyone here knew anything about it. My plan is to keep her in a room (with all her toys and whatnot) for the first day, and then to let her out a little more each day with another litter box downstairs. The house is WAY bigger than my apartment so I don't want her to be too overwhelmed either. I'll probably be there about 4 days total.

Thanks for any advice!

ive worked with animals in vets and shelters and well my own you have already thought well. keep 2 boxes where she knows where they are i would put them in the bathrooms. at firs put her food next to them so she will go there for the smell and know its there for her. keep a cardboard box for her to scratch on if she does that for the stress she may feel you should be o.k. if its been a long time their shouldent be any rancid residual smell left from the other owners but if she doesent go on your floors she most likely wont there either but you never know lol. good luck happy hollidays.
