Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

ABG is arterial blood gas analysis. This is a blood test in which the status of oxygenation of the blood can be found.

If the lungs are not functioning properly, then the oxygenation of the blood will not be proper and this can easily be detected by this test. I sincerely hope this information helps. Take care.
