Hi.
I have this for about 2 months now. Had all the chest x-rays, blood tests, all clear.
I have noticed though that i can improve my breathing for a short while by just doing chest breathng for about 1 hour. After this hour, i can fully expand my chest & diaphram. It's like my diaphram needs a rest or something. I am also just starting treatment for anxiety so it may be related but it's strange that an unusual breathing technique can help in the short term, I can get about 12 hours good belly breathing if i chest breath only for about 1 hour. I would like a longer term solution though. I also find trying the Diaphram breathing actually makes my situation worse.

cheers

Hi to all of you who posted a response. My name is Jaime and I am having a lot of different symptoms like this that I thought weren't all related. I have such a hard time breathing. A couple breaths will be normal and then I'll have to take one huge one that still doesn't feel fulfilled. Sometimes it even hurts in my chest mostly on the right side. I get these weird dry like patches on my forehead seems like once a month now. My stomach bloats after I eat or drink anything so much that I have no control over my stomach muscles. Sometimes my heart beats a little fast for a couple seconds. I get kinda "hot flashes" and every time I ever mention it out loud people are like wow your too young to have hot flashes. I'm currently 21 and this has been getting progressively worse since after I turned 20. Right before I read this I found symptoms on Sarcoidosis which freakishly sounds like my problem. Which could be all of your guys problem too. I suggest researching it and seeing if it sounds like your problems. I finally went to the doctors with my problem and we are testing to see if its just anxiety so I take prozak and zanax. Both just suck and don't really help besides making me even more tired all day long. It's unfortunate since I'm an outgoing person. Just a thought hope this may help.I'm still looking for my problem!

Difficulty in Taking a Deep Breath
I have been struggling to breathe now for over 3 weeks - all heart & lungs checked out ok (several times), GP says I am suffering from anxiety. I have also been diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia (for which I take Lansoprazole) and Post-Nasal Drip (which has taken a year to diagnose) for which I take Beconase spray daily. This difficulty to get a full lung of air is driving me insane!

Acid reflux
Most of the symptoms which have been mentioned here point to possible acid reflux. When you have a full stomach after your evening meal or a bloated stomach, this moves the diaphragm up into the chest area crowding the lungs. This can certainly cause breathing distress. Eating less at your evening meal, so that your stomach is not so full may help. Also avoid those things that cause your stomach to bloat. I found Nexium helps me tremendously. Take one in the morning one hour before breakfast and see how you may improve. I had several doctors misdiagnose me, however I knew I had an acid reflux problem.

Bloating-short of breath
Hi All,
A lot of your posts describe my condition exactly. When I wake up there is a pain at the bottom/just below my sternum that is sore to the touch. My upper stomach area is bloated. My breaths do not seem to satisfy and I have to consciously take a large breath or yawn to get the satisfaction of a lung full of air.
I have had a lot of negative things happening in my life recently but I have also had a problem with my stomach earlier in the year where I had a Nurofen (ibuprofen)on an empty stomach that led to vomiting blood.
All X-rays/CT scans and blood work are clear except for minor reflux scaring and Helicobacter Pylori bacteria.
The GP currently has me on Nexium to reduce stomach acid and Motilium to relax the stomach muscles. I am also optionally taking beconase. This has reduced the symptoms slightly, but not enough to make me comfortable.
If anyone has had any success with treatments please let me know.

I am currently having the same problems and took Nurofen for the first time a few months ago. I believe this was the trigger as I had a bad reaction to it.

I've started to take probiotics and digestive enzymes in the hope this may help.

Desperately after a solution to this as I'm normally quite healthy!
