It's a little hard to give instructions like that over the internet. The best thing to do would be to go to your local hospital and ask to see a lactation consultant. They can show you the best positions for you and your baby so that both he and you are comfortable and enjoy it.

Usually it takes a couple days or so for your milk to come in after you've had the baby. Up until this point, it's pretty much just been colostrum he's been getting. When you have letdown of milk, that's a good time to try to feed him. If he is hungry, the letdown with occur by his sucking within 5 minutes.

The best thing of all is to relax. If you have a lot of tension, the less comfortable the baby will be with you, and the harder it will be for you to produce milk.
