I m Breast cancer survivor. I was detected with breast cancer (3cm) in year 2007 with multiple mets in liver (3-5cm). I underwnet 6 cycles of chemotherapy (taxotere) followed by masectomy (ER/PR strongly positive ans Her-2 negative). Since then regular follow up with PET CT revealed reduction in mets in liver and were finally vanished. I was under medication with arimidex. But in Oct-2011 my PET CT indicated heterogenously enchancing lesion (2.5cm) in V right lobe of liver. The biopsy result indicated same biological characteristics of breast cancer with liver metastasis. Resection of liver was done and arimidex was discontinued and replaced by exemestane. In April 2012, PET CT indicated 1cm lesion i V right lobe of liver and 0.6 cm in porto canal. My onco says this could be cancerous lesion and hence he suggested me with a newly itorduced drug called affinitor (e verolimus) in combination with exemestane. I want know whether the treatment is in right direction? and what life can be expected with this drug?
