I have been taking Seasonale for over four years now, and within the last year changed to the generic Seasonale, Jolessa. I have never had a problem with either medication.

However, I have now had spotting/bleeding for the past three weeks. At first it was pretty negligible, but now it's pretty much at the same consistency and flow of a regular period. I just had my period the first week in August, so technically shouldn't get my period until the end of October.

I am getting concerned (and annoyed). The only difference I can think of over the past two months is that I started taking Wellbutrin, but I haven't found any interactions between these two on the internet.

Anyone have this happen? I've been trying to get through to my doctor to no avail.

Spotting and other irregular bleeding could be a side effect of the birth control pill type Jolessa. According to the manufacturer's instructions if irregular bleeding lasts for more tha 7 days you should consult your gynecologist.

Irregular vaginal bleeding can be also due to some other reason not related to Jolessa. For example you may have an endometrial polyp, submucosal myoma, infection etc. that can also cause irregular vaginal bleeding.

I am having the exact same problem but I am not taking any other medications! I took Seasonale for almost two years and recently had to switch to Jolessa (generic Seasonale) and now I am having spotting/bleeding two weeks before my period.
