Can any one please tell me how long it will take for a recovery from Blood clot surgery in the brain. It was on the front right side of the brain and my father in law was succefully operated. He is right now in ICU and the CT scan shows that the clot is completely cleared. Its been a week now and he is still unconscious. They might have sedated him. He is having seizures from time to time. Is this normal? The doctors said its normal because of the nature of operation. The only problem is his temperature is on the higher side around 100 and keeps waxing and waning. Doctors think it could be an infection which is triggering it. They examined all possible place for the infection(cathetor, food pipe, operated brain area, lungs), turned out negative. So regardless of the origin of infection, they still had to give the same set of antibiotic. Doctors says they are optimistic. He is a heart patient, which could have led to the clot to begin with. We are scared. Anyone can share some experience. How long does it take to recover?
