Blood pressure medicines are lifesavers, but erection problems are sometimes a side effect. Which Blood Pressure medication does not cause sexual side effects like ED?

It's true that some of the blood pressure meds cause erectile dysfunction.
But, it is well known that the high blood pressure itself leads to permanent blood vessels changes in penis, leading to decreased blood flow to the penis that result in problems with achieving and maintaining erections, even causing problems with ejaculation and reduced sexual desire.

For you it will be important not to find only a drug without side effect-ED, but, also, a drug that will be controlling your blood pressure.
People with not regulated blood pressure are at greater risk for ED.

Ask your physician to get switched to other groups of blood pressure drugs, like alpha-blockers or angiotensin II receptor blockers.
Some clinical studies have suggested that these drugs may even improve the sexual function in hypertensive men.

You are welcome!
Losarten, a drug that belongs to the drug class known as angiotensin II receptor blockers, has been related with improved sexual function in men with hypertension.

Talk with your physician before switching on other blood pressure drugs!

MandMs - Thanks again!
OK, my physician switched me to Cozaar 100 MG. When might I notice a change if any?

Thanks so much!

You might want to discuss Cialis with your doctor. As a drug to improve erections and sexual function it directly addresses that problem. Plus, the fact that Cialis has been shown effective at lowering blood pressure is a valuable secondary benefit.

In fact, researchers are testing low daily doses (2 to 5 mg) of Cialis as a hypertension treatment. Sounds like the ideal solution.

i switched from one blood pressure med. to another that doesnt have a side effect of low libido. but i still had a low libido.
i m also having other side effects from my meds. so i decide to get off of them and get on omega 3 fatty acids, red yeast rice pills, deluted apple cidar vinegar. if you read some posts there have been people who tried it and their pressure has been lowered.
try herbs and see if they work, if they dont go back to your meds. what you'll have to loose is side effects.
