can anxiety bring digestive disorders? i also have severe anxiety, i'm not indipendent and at home always my parents say the last word like when you are still a child and you have to obay , as this is dangerous for you etc..and i cannot decied for myself because all my decisions are bad, i cannot go for a holiday alone, because according to them one has to be married otherwise it is not good..i'm 33 year old, then all of a sudden i did a lot of tests and docs recomanded me to go to a psychatrist, i did ultrasound scans of my body, cbc, esr, cpk, crp, hiv, ca125 , colonoscopy all normal and gi doctor says that i don't need gastroscopy and tests are driving me crazy, the doctors said that stress triggered severe constipation, light periods, sleepyiness and low energy, dizziness/panic attacks, and a year before i had fibromyalgia.
probably the only solution is not to stay with such parents to get better?

I am sorry to hear of your many health challenges.

Certainly, psychiatric illnesses can have a profound effects on GI function. It is also true that many psychiatric medications can also directly affect GI function, as well.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make a diagnosis over the Internet, and so I cannot say whether or not your GI complaints are a result of your psychiatric illness, your medications, or due to some other cause altogether.

I hope that you will be able to find a physician who can identify the reasons for your symptoms, and that they will be able to provide you with some relief.

Sincerely/ Robert A. Wascher, MD, FACS

wacky gi system, hunger, constipation, bloating
hi thanks the person who visited did a colonoscopy and ultrasound of liver, pancreas, kidneys, (and had a gynecologist with him to make the u/sound of pelvis and i did also smear becauase gync abnormalities can cause gi symptoms too) i did ca 125 and all came out normal, cbc was normal, esr too, and cpk and crp normal (They were done because i had muscle pain ) i was diagnosed with ibs and fibromyalgia. gastroscopy was cancelled because he is sure i have ibs, i met him for another physical exam and put me on movicol, i can go although i get bloated when i eat too much but i cannot control my stomach the hunger i got is not normal, i'm getting hungry all the time, i think i should visit my gi doctor and ask him about my sudden gain in apetite, btw i had loss of apetite due to depression, it lasted months..now i gained more aptetite which is not normal, i am afraid to become fat so do you think i must visit my gi doctor or a nutritionist? my gi system feels wacky.
