Q: bottom of spine and anus spots

Hi my wife is 45 yrs old and over the last 2/3 years she has suffered from spots at the bottom of her spine,moving down to her buttocks,the spots are very itchy and when she itches them,they produce scabs and eventually scars which do not fade,she is too embarrassed to go to her gp can you help.
