My sister and I suffer from the "chicken lip" syndrome, a.k.a., no lips! We both hate the look of fillers in the lips and have never understood the whole fish lip/Angelina Jolie wannabe thing. So when it was suggested that I might be able to increase the volume in my upper lip ever so slightly with a small injection of Botox above the lip, I decided to try it. The results are awesome!
Not only did it smooth out some of the icky "smoker" lines above my lips, but also it pulled up the center of the upper lip just enough to actually have what Dr. Duncan calls a "cupid's bow."
It seemed like a scary area to have Botox and it takes a very skilled and experienced doctor to apply the right amount, in exactly the right area. I have read so many awful stories about Botox parties, Botox in the shopping center, and even Botox shots while you're getting your hair done! Don't do it! Got to someone you know is good, based on credentials and other people's personal experiences and results.
I hope this is helpful.
