I went to a dentist that explained of my peridontal disease and extensive bone loss of one tooth in particular that had a root canal previously, he wants to pull it out. I have no pain in this tooth, but he says it will affect the tooth next to it. Just like many others, I want to keep my teeth as long as possible. Is it a necessity to extract this tooth on bone loss alone? The tooth is not loose or falling out. How will the bone loss on this tooth affect the other tooth? Is he just yanking to pull out teeth? Do I need a second opinion? If I don't let this dentist pull out my tooth what should I expect to happen? It is capped off.
