Hi and welcome to ehealthforum!
I can't really tell from the picture you have sent.
Have you already manipulated with it?
For how long you have this "boil"?
Did it start like a small itchy or tender spot, that grew over a few days into a large red lump under the skin surface?
Is it becoming increasingly painful?
Do you find it tender, warm, and/or painful at the touch?

It's pretty much gone now
I went to the doctors and they told me to put vics vapor rub on it
I was shocked they would say that
But the reason is that it sucks the crud out and then I popped it with a needle.
SO yea
It's still there
But not like it was
It's much better
Thank you for the reply

You are welcome.

A boil is a bacterial infection of the deep part of a hair follicle (structure under the surface of the skin where hair forms) The bacteria survive best in moist areas such as the nostrils and a tiny cut of the skin allows this bacterium to enter the follicles and cause an infection.

Have you tried an antibiotic cream or ointment to apply around the boil?
Are you prone to form boils in this area or you are experiencing this for the first time?

This is the first time. Hopefully it wont happen again. My grandmother told me that after the infection is there and seems gone, I am prone to more breakouts of the infection. So I might get it again. But now I know what to do. Thank you.

You are welcome!
A single boil can settle naturally, especially if the pus it contains discharges spontaneously (most boils run their course within 4 to 10 days). Sometimes the pus is released by cutting carefully into the boil with sterile instruments.
Your grandmother is right. The infection with bacteria may linger on, or be picked up again from someone else, so that further infections can occur later.
To stop other boils coming up nearby, an antibiotic cream or ointment can be used around the boil.

Well wishes!
Marija
